We’ve talked about it before but just want to make sure we all remember. Praise is important and if your child is trying, give them credit. Some children are motivated by reward systems that positively reinforce their efforts. If they drink their water, get to the bathroom on time, and even sit down to poop after a meal, you can use stickers, small toys or have them work towards something bigger if they meet the goal for the week. Calendars and charts help them to visually see and for you to track their progress. Daily feedback is important as they become motivated to continue working towards being dry and it helps the adults in their life to remember to stick with it also (Potty Progress Chart).
